Built for agencies · Retainers + approvals

Time tracking
for agencies.

One tool from timer to invoice. Forecasting, approvals, and margin reporting built in.

Agencies live and die by two numbers: utilization and project margin. Tempough is built to make both visible without an integration sprint. The team logs time, managers approve weekly timesheets, project leads see budget burn in real time, and finance gets margin reports without stitching together a spreadsheet from three tools.

Why Tempough fits agencies

Approvals workflow that respects your org chart

Each user has a direct manager. When they submit a timesheet, it routes to their manager — not a fanout to everyone with the "approve" permission. The org chart is editable as a tree, fallback to fanout when a manager is unassigned or archived.

Retainer billing without a separate billing tool

Recurring invoices for monthly retainers, plus one-off ad-hoc charges when scope creeps. Each retainer can be tied to a fixed hourly budget so you can see when a client's eating through their bucket faster than usual.

Margin reports that include overtime cost correctly

Cost rates per team member, weekly overtime threshold per workspace, and margin reports that compute real cost (including the 1.5x OT multiplier on hours over the threshold). A project that looks profitable at straight time can be a loss after OT — Tempough surfaces that.

Capacity planning built in (not an add-on)

Drag-to-schedule assignments on a Gantt-style scheduler. Time-off requests deduct capacity automatically. Forecast-vs-actual reports show variance per person and per project at the end of each week.

Team groupings for multi-account agencies

On Team Pro, organize staff into teams ("Acme Account", "Brand Team", "New Business") and slice every report by team. A team lead role can see their own team's aggregates without seeing the full agency.

Client portal for invoice transparency

Clients can view their invoices, project hours, and outstanding balance through a portal — no client license needed. White-label option removes Tempough branding entirely on Enterprise.

Recommended plan

Team

$11/seat/mo billed annually

The full agency surface — forecasting, cost rates, approvals, time-off, team reports. Most agencies stay on Team. Team Pro adds branded invoices, document distribution, and team groupings; pick it once you cross 15-20 seats or want the document-distribution workflow.

Common questions

Each user submits their weekly timesheet at week's end. An email goes to their direct manager (set per-user as a self-FK to another User). The manager approves, rejects, or sends back for fixes. Locked-after-approve so payroll/billing can't be silently changed after the fact. Admins can unlock if needed; that's audit-logged.
